Dr. Rosemarie Niznik grew up in northern Pennsylvania. Since a young girl, she wanted to be a veterinarian. After one year attending graduate school and working as a veterinary technician, she was accepted to the University for Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. During veterinary school, she participated in the Shock Trauma Team, the Colic Team, and Alpha Psi Veterinary Fraternity. After veterinary school graduation, she worked as associate and relief small animal veterinarian in numerous veterinary day practices and emergency hospitals. Always interested in alternative and complementary treatments and medications, she would research and recommend supplements for her patients. After personally receiving acupuncture and chiropractic treatments for a serious back injury, Dr. Niznik decided to change the main focus of her career to Holistic Veterinary Medicine. She received her Certification in Veterinary Acupuncture, Food Therapy, and Tui-na from the Chi University (Institute for Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine). She attended the Healing Oasis Wellness Center and graduated from the cVSMT (chiropractic) course. Currently, she practices integrative veterinary medicine in her Holistic House call Practice in Illinois and Wisconsin. She continues her studies as the Chi University in the Master’s Program in TCVM. Currently, Dr. Niznik serves as President of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association. She shares her home with her husband, Chip, and Bernese Mountain Dog, Arabella, and two rescued cats, Wendy and Willa.
